Nikola Tesla (Radio) By Mia

                          Nikola Tesla

Nikola Tesla was a Serbian. He was born on July 10th  , 1856 in Smiljan ,Croatia, and he died on January 7th  1943 in New York (at the age of 86 ).

His father Milutin Tesla was a Serbian priest,and his mother Duka Tesla had a talent to make home craft tools.Tesla was the  fourth of five children.His only brother Dane,died  in a horse accident when Tesla was five.He also had three sisters Milka, Angelica and Marica.

He moved  to the USA in 1884  and began working with Thomas Edison in the electricity.They had different personalities so they couldn't work together for a long time.
He patented more than fourty inventions. One of his inventions was the radio. In 1898 he demonstrated a radio-controlled boat. In 1900 he was finally recognized as the inventor of the radio.

Alexander was born on March 3, 1847 and he died on August 2, 1922 at the age of 75 in Canada. He had a wife called Mabel Hubbard,two daughters and two sons. He became an a excellent piano player at a young age. He studied the human voice and worked with various schools for the deaf. He was an inventor, scientist, engineer, professor of the Boston University and teacher of the deaf. He invented the telephone, the telegraph, the photophone, the phonograph, the hydrofoils and two for a selenium cell. He invented a device to communicate faster. Now it is possible to communicate with people who are far away from us.

Easter eggs by Kerman and Adrian.




Ingredients

250g marzipan

125g icing sugar


2 tablespoons  hot water

 Hundreds and thousands cocktail.sticks





Method:


First,shape the marzipan into sixteen eggs.

Next,sift the icing sugar into a bowl.Add water to make a smoth paste.

Later,with the cocktail sticks,dip the eggs into the icing sugar.

Finally,roll in the hundred and thousand.Leave for 30 minutes.


Mmmmmmmm delicious!!!

Lebkuchen Spycy Greman biscuit By MarĂ­a

     Lebkuchen Spycy Greman biscuit 


Ingredients



1egg

4 tablespoons clear honey
55g butter or margarine
55g soft brown sugar
225g plain flour teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon ground ginger
30g cocoa powder
1 teaspoon mixed spice 
85g icing sugar 
1 tablespoon lemon juice
food colouring (optional)
icing bag or a cone of greaseproof paper


                 METHOD



First, grease a baking sheet with butter. Separate the egg. Put the yolk into a bowl. You  don´t need the egg.

Then, turn on the oven. Put the honey, butter and sugar in a pan over a low heat. Stir them until the butter has melted.


Next, sift the flour, baking powder, cocoa powder, ginger and mixed spice into a mixing bowl. Add the egg yolk.


After, mix the melted butter, honey and sugar into the flour. Squeeze the mixture into a ball of dough with your hands.


Later, sprinkle some flour onto a clean worktop and onto a rolling pin. Roll out the dough until it is 1/2cm thick.


After, use cookie cutters or a knife to cut out different shapes. Roll out the leftover dough and cut out more shapes.


Then, use a spatula to lift the biscuits onto the baking sheet. Make a hole at the top of each biscuit with a skewer.


Next, bake the biscuits until golden. Then, leave them to cool.


Meanwhile, sift the icing sugar into a bowl. mix in the tablespoon of lemon juice, keep stirring.


Later, spoon some of the icing into a  bowl. You can mix in a few drops of  food colouring if you want.


Finally, spoon the icing into an icing bag. Pipe on the icing slowly by squeezing the bag.

Toffee apples by Nerea


                                   Toffee apples

                                    Ingredients
                      
                            Toffee apples for  8 people.

1.- 8 red apples.
2.- 8 sticks.
3.- 450g sugar.
4.- Juice of 1 lemon.
5.- 8 tablespoons water.
6.- Greaseproof paper 
   

                                                Method


First, heat the sugar, lemon, water gently until dissolved.

Next, when the sugar is dissolved, boil for eight minutes.

Later, dip the apples into the toffee. Then, put them on greaseproof paper to harden.

Finally, the toffee apples are ready fory our Halloween party.
